Cyprus Digital Nomad Visa
quote after we review the task
The Cyprus Digital Nomad Visa is a temporary residence permit for non-EU nationals who work remotely for an employer registered abroad, or as self-employed professionals for clients abroad. The key condition is stable net income of at least €3,500 a month after taxes and contributions. The permit is issued for 1 year and can be renewed for up to 2 more years; family members can live with the applicant but cannot work in Cyprus. The application is filed within 3 months of arrival in Nicosia, the official processing time is 5–7 weeks, and the scheme is capped at 500 permits. Checked against the Cyprus Migration Department page on 10.10.2026.
What we do
- Check whether your work and clients meet the scheme conditions.
- Calculate net income from your documents and build the evidence.
- Prepare the application and file for the Migration Department, including family members.
- Plan renewals and the tax model, taking the 183-day rule into account.
What we need from you
- A passport.
- An employment contract with a foreign company or contracts with foreign clients.
- Bank statements and documents proving income.
- A criminal record certificate, health insurance and a lease in Cyprus.

Who it suits and when another route fits better
The scheme is built for people whose employer or clients are outside Cyprus: developers, designers, marketers, consultants and staff of international companies. Work for Cypriot clients or employment with a Cypriot company falls outside it. If you plan to work for a Cyprus company, we look at a permit as an employee of a company of foreign interests. If you want to build your own business in Cyprus, see business immigration.
How to apply
Entry under the rules that apply to Ukrainian nationals; from arrival you have 3 months to file.
Application and documents from the official Migration Department checklist, translated and certified; the core is proof of remote work and income.
In person or through an authorised representative, with the government fees paid. Incomplete files are rejected.
Photo and fingerprints in Nicosia or at the district Aliens and Immigration unit of the police.
An approval letter explains how to collect the permit; a refusal letter states the reasons.
File at least one month before the permit expires; the next term is up to 2 years.
If you already reside lawfully in Cyprus under another status, you can file the Digital Nomad application locally at the Migration Department in Nicosia.
Taxes for digital nomads
According to the Migration Department, a person who spends more than 183 days in Cyprus in a tax year is considered Cyprus tax resident, provided they are not tax resident in any other country. From 2026 the personal tax-free band in Cyprus is €22,000 a year. We work out the tax model (residence, non-dom regime, taxation of income from foreign clients) together with Crystal Tax.
