Migrants, foreign citizens have the right to temporarily stay in Ukraine, but if their passport documents are registered in accordance with the requirements of the Legislation of Ukraine.

Registration of foreign citizens is necessary in order to legally stay on the territory of Ukraine and conduct certain activities.

Registration can be short-term and long-term.

For short-term registration the passport is submitted directly to the registration office. There are 2 registrations of short-term stay:

• According to the term specified in the visa
• For visa-free citizens - not more than 90 days

For long-term registration, it is necessary to apply to the OVIR.

If a foreign person needs to stay in Ukraine for more than 90 days, he needs to register in advance with the OVIR. If this is not done, a fine will follow.

What documents are required to extend the period of stay?

From a foreign person:

• 4 photos
• Information confirming the reason for extending the term
• Original passport
• Signed copies of all passport pages
• Copy of migration card
• Notarized translation of passport
• Financial data

If the receiving party does not have such a right, then it is necessary to provide the consent of the owners of the housing, where the foreign person, the migrant will reside.

• Original and copies of all pages of the document
• Original extract from the USREOU
• A copy with a stamp of the document, which confirms the appointed responsible for the execution of documents for the foreigner
• Information that confirms ownership rights. If the receiving party does not have such a right, it is necessary to provide the consent of the owners of the housing where the foreign person will reside.
