Registration of specific types of activity

Several businesses in Ukraine are entered in registers of their own, in addition to the ordinary registration of a legal entity. This section collects those procedures: the body that keeps the register, the documents it expects and the order in which they are filed differ from case to case.

Media and publishing

Publishers and broadcasters are covered by registration of mass media, registration of a newspaper or magazine, registration of an online media outlet and media registration for a news site. Ukrainian law provides two routes for an online project — as an information agency and as a print medium — and the choice affects the documents and the founder data that are disclosed.

Trade, production and transport

Retailers and manufacturers use registration of a cash register, registration of barcodes for goods that are subject to mandatory marking, registration of new products and flavourings, and registration of an export capacity for food producers that supply foreign markets. Vehicle inspection stations are covered by registration as a subject of obligatory technical control of vehicles.

Less common legal forms

The section also describes forms that appear rarely in practice and are therefore easy to register incorrectly: a general partnership, a limited partnership, an additional liability company, a cooperative store, a farming enterprise, a private school and a state enterprise, which is founded by a public authority under Article 73 of the Commercial Code.

Prices and deadlines

Every position in this section is listed in the price list with a deadline and a price. Most entries carry the note «Negot.», because the fee depends on the documents, the founders and the scope of work; the deadline shown for the majority of services is three working days. The scope, the fee and the schedule are fixed in the contract before the work starts.
