Temporary residence permit in Austria

Austria is a fairly closed country, you need grounds to get a residence permit:

• working in Austria;
• family reunification;
• studying at a university:
• investing in charity;
• registration of marriage;
• registering a business in this country;
• Financially Independent Person Program.

Consideration of a visa case will take from 2-3 months. It is desirable to apply for a residence permit in Ukraine, but in some cases it is possible to do it in Austria through the local police authorities.

Temporary residence permits are often needed for citizens of other countries working in seasonal jobs.

How does the quota system for the inflow of foreigners work?

The quota system consists of several categories:

40% of the total - residence permits for invited employees of rare professions with the right of employment in the inviting company; 20% - residence permit in Austria for financially secure persons and investors of foreigners without the right of employment; 30% - residence permit for entrepreneurs with the possibility of working in their own company; 15% - residence permit during the period of study in Austria for students; 5% - residence permit in Austria for financially secure retirees.

On personal accounts in banks located in the territory of the EU must be a sum sufficient to cover monthly expenses:

• for an adult - 2500 €;
• for a child - 250 €.

Package of documents for residence permit

Documents are submitted to the Austrian Embassy in Ukraine.

The usual package includes:

• application with date and signature. receipt of payment of state duty;
• a passport with an expiration date of more than three months with one blank page and its notarized copy;
• all previously obtained passports (if available),
• two 45 x 35 mm photos.
• birth certificate + copy (certified);
• certificate of no criminal record with apostille;
• health insurance valid in the EU;
• proof of living expenses in the form of a certificate or bank statement;
• a certificate proving knowledge of German at least A-1 level;
• rental agreement or a certificate of purchase of real estate.

Grounds for opening a visa:

• employment contract;
• certificate of enrollment in studies;
• marriage certificate;
• student visa;
• business registration certificate;
• other reasons.
