Migration services for companies employing foreigners

A Ukrainian company that hires a foreign specialist or invites a foreign partner deals with the State Migration Service and with the employment authorities. This section collects the procedures Legal Solutions handles for the employer, rather than for the private applicant.

The company and the migration register

A legal entity that cooperates with foreign nationals is entered in the register of the State Migration Service — see registration of an enterprise with the SMS. On that basis the company can issue an invitation for a foreigner to enter Ukraine, which is the document a consulate asks for when a visa is applied for. A service card of a foreigner is arranged for staff whose duties require it.

Work permits and residence for employees

Employment of a foreign citizen in Ukraine follows two connected procedures: the work permit obtained by the employer, and the temporary residence permit obtained by the employee on the basis of that permit. How the work is organised

The company provides its statutory documents, the data of the foreign employee, the position and the terms of employment; a lawyer checks whether the documents issued abroad require legalisation or an apostille and a certified translation, prepares the applications and accompanies the filing. The deadlines depend on the authority, and each of them is stated in the contract together with the scope of work.

Prices and deadlines

The scope, the fee and the schedule are fixed in the contract before the work starts.
